GOOD STUFF...

ITEM - MTN contacted St. Paul pro David Thompson recently, asking him to comment on what he hopes to achieve at St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg, FL on Sunday, April 24. He answered via e-mail:

"Continuing my top 10 streak would be nice. I'm more focused on improving my Escape from Alcatraz finish from last year by one position the following week." DKT

COMMENT: Our research shows that David, who will be wearing #8 at St. A's, has cracked the top 10 there in each of the last three years: 8th in 2007 & 2009, 9th in 2008, earning a total of $1600 in the process. He finished 2nd behind Andy Potts, winner at New Orleans 70.3 on April 18, at Alcatraz last season.

ITEM: MTN's new website designer/stud runner Jason Lehmkuhle finished 9th overall (2:12:24!) at 2000th running--we think?-- of the Boston Marathon yesterday. (He's also cracked the top 10--twice--at the NYC Marathon.) Fellow Minnesotan Antonio Vega placed 12th in a PB-2:13:47. The race was won by 21-year-old phenom Robert Cheruiyot of Kenya in a course record 2:05:52.

COMMENT: How cool is this!
