Kortney Haag, Minnesota's 2008 Rookie of the Year proved on July 11 at Life Time Fitness Elite that she is ahead--way ahead!--of the learning curve. She placed 4th behind three girls--Cathy Yndestad, Lindsay Whalen and Mandy McLane--who are already being projected as 2009 USAT Athlete of the Year nominees. Almost as impressive was the roster of talented women who finished behind her, and in some cases, way behind her. " I was really happy with my race on Saturday and am looking forward to HOLT this weekend," Kortney replied via e-mail. She described her experience on her blog:
