Press Release:

Registration has now opened for the YWCA of Minneapolis Women’s Triathlon, which for the past couple years has been a favorite
race for many of Minnesota’s female triathletes. Race director, Paul Johnson, says, “It is really a privilege to be a part of this race. The women who race really make it a celebration of achievement, strength, inspiration and support. I’m already feeling the infectious energy and excitement. The first registration came within about 30 seconds of putting the button on the website and we had over 100 registrations in the first hour or two.”

Originally planned for Lake Calhoun, the race venue is now Lake Nokomis. Paul explains that “while many in Minneapolis were eager to see the race at Calhoun, traffic and other logistics proved too difficult. We really appreciate how extensively the Minneapolis Park Board looked at the options with us. So, on to Lake Nokomis which is, of course, a terrific venue with proven course options. As the YWCA of
Minneapolis, we are just plain thrilled to bring the race ‘home’.” RACE WEBSITE
