MTN congratulates the organizers of the Northwoods Triathlon, which is contested at picturesque Lake Belle Taine (see photo) near Nevis. This rural mainstay in the Tri-Minnesota Series reached it's 2010 enrollment ceiling--350 individuals and 50 teams--on January 6. Only 2009 Race of the Year Lake Minnetonka Triathlon filled more quickly (January 1).
The Northwoods Triathlon, this year's edition will be staged on August 14, has earned a reputation as a "Destination Event," much like that venerable north country classic, the Timberman.
