OptumHealth, one of the nation’s largest health and wellness companies, has expanded its offerings to include OPTUMHEALTH PERFORMANCE, a personalized athletic coaching and training service that will be directly available to endurance athletes.
Formerly SCS Multisport, OPTUMHEALTH PERFORMANCE will qualitatively and quantitatively expand their world class professional services to better serve the needs of athletes--elite and recreational alike--who are looking to improve their fitness and performance levels. OPTUMHEALTH PERFORMANCE will offer the use of a state-of-the art facility for multisport coaching, training and performance testing. This first-of-a-kind center is slated to open in the Eden Prairie area late this summer.
“We are truly looking to improve the experience of the athlete by offering everything they need to meet their goals, whether they are just entering the sport or a seasoned professional” said Frank Blackstock (photo left), triathlete and Senior Vice President of OPTUMHEALTH PERFORMANCE. "The Performance Center will offer a “one stop shopping” approach to the sport with coaching, training, testing and retail under one roof. Athletes will have access to 13 lanes of lap swimming, an endless pool with underwater treadmill and video, a CompuTrainer spin studio, metabolic testing, video analysis, and group classes including spin, yoga functional strength training along with many more specialty offerings." Gear West Bike & Triathlon, one of America's premier tri shops, will manage, staff and stock the on-site retail store.
